Livesay B Custody Changes
Livesay Correctional Institution B Camp is part of SCDC, even though it is physically in Spartanburg County. County booking tools do not cover its sentenced state-prison population. SCDC describes Livesay B as a minimum-security male facility and lists Jumpstart programming. Minimum security and reentry programming can prepare a person for community transition, but neither is a release status. The state correctional record controls whether SCDC custody continues.
A location change may mean transfer within the Livesay complex, movement to a different SCDC institution, or a program placement. A completed event may instead be parole, supervised reentry, community supervision, or sentence discharge. Read the exact code and agency. If SCDC still lists an institution and movement, prison custody continues. If the released list records an exit type, physical SCDC custody ended under that type, but SCDPPPS or another detainer authority may still have jurisdiction.

Search Livesay B Releases
The ordinary SCDC offender search covers people currently sentenced to and incarcerated by the state. Data is described as current through the previous midnight. A current detail can show the SCDC ID, SID, institution, movements, sentence and offense details, earned-work and education levels, and three distinct dates or eligibility fields: `PROJECTED RELEASE DATE`, `PROJECTED PAROLE ELIGIBILITY`, and `SUP. REENTRY ELIGIBILITY`. A projected date is a calculation, parole eligibility is a possible decision point, and supervised-reentry eligibility concerns a structured release path.
Released people are excluded from that tool. For a completed prison exit, open the SCDC Released Inmate Search. Enter the required start and end dates and select the committing county. The form is driven by date range and county rather than an unrestricted statewide name query. Its county value does not identify Livesay B as the exit facility. It reflects the committing county, so a person released from Livesay B may appear under another county.
- Use the current search when custody may continue, then match the SCDC ID or SID and institution.
- Record the projected date and eligibility fields without treating them as an actual discharge.
- After the expected event, search the separate released list with a practical date range and correct committing county.
- Match SCDC ID or SID, name, release date, release type, and most serious offense.
- Contact SCDC for an underlying record when the public result does not establish the releasing institution.
Livesay B Release Evidence
The released-inmate grid provides SCDC ID, name, SID, sex, race, age, victim and detainer indicators, sex-offender indicator, release date, release type, county, and most serious offense. Research observed release labels such as `PROBATION`, `SUPV RE-ENTRY`, and `COMMUNITY SUPV`. They are examples, not the whole code set. A detainer indicator also deserves follow-up because one custodian can end control while another takes over.
Match stable identifiers. Names can be shared, spelled in several ways, or changed. The SCDC ID and SID are stronger links between the current and released records. If only a name is known, use age and offense details carefully and seek a record rather than assuming a match. The released grid does not normally show a booking photo and does not prove a destination address.

Livesay B Supervision Status
A prison release and the end of state oversight are not always the same event. SCDPPPS handles probation, parole, and mandatory-release programs. Its offender search accepts permitted combinations of name, SID, county, and year of birth. Results reflect the previous day. A match can corroborate release into supervision, while no result proves neither confinement nor full discharge because a past case may no longer appear.
Parole is conditional early release from SCDC while the remaining sentence is supervised. Probation is generally ordered by a court and is not merely another name for parole. Supervised reentry and community supervision also have their own authority. Preserve the exact Livesay B release label, then identify the SCDPPPS record that applies. Name Livesay B as the believed release facility, while allowing the agency to correct an institution-transfer assumption.
Ask for the releasable document that identifies the actual release date, release type, and releasing institution. SCDC's general address is PO Box 21787, Columbia, SC 29210, with general telephone 803-896-8500. County detention staff should not be asked to confirm a Livesay B discharge, since the Sheriff's Office did not hold the state-prison sentence.
Livesay B Institution History
Livesay B opened in 1973 and was formerly Northside Correctional Institution before July 2007. The earlier name can appear in older records, news accounts, or personal papers. It is therefore useful when identifying the correct institution history, but it does not create a separate release workflow. SCDC remains the custodian for the prison record.
Jumpstart programming and minimum-security status distinguish Livesay B from a county pretrial jail. Those details point toward reentry preparation, not an automatic or unconditional release. The correct evidence sequence remains state-specific: current SCDC record before the event, released SCDC result after the event, SCDPPPS status for ongoing supervision, and an SCDC records request for formal proof. A move to Livesay A, Tyger River, or another SCDC location is a transfer until the agency records a release.
