Spartanburg Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

Search Terms

A name or place entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Spartanburg County Released Inmates does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its handling of the query.

Messages

If you send an email or contact submission, the message and reply details are kept as needed to answer. They are not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data Collected

Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may receive technical information when a page loads. That information can include:

  • internet protocol address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent;
  • the referring page, when available; and
  • access dates and timestamps.

Cookies

Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and may support advertising. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, although blocking them may change how some features behave.

How Data Is Used

Collected data supports ordinary site functions and administration. It may be used to:

  • keep pages available and responsive;
  • send a search request to the selected partner;
  • understand which content is useful;
  • diagnose errors and security problems; and
  • display advertising that may reflect interests.

Links Beyond This Site

Pages link to Spartanburg release records, sheriff and corrections pages, court sources, government locators, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy notice controls. This site does not direct that site's data practices.

Advertising partners may use their systems to recognize activity across different sites for interest-based advertising. That tracking, where used, occurs under the partner's policy.

Parties Receiving Data

Personal data is not sold as a standalone product. Limited information may reach:

  • search partners that process a submitted query;
  • analytics providers that measure site use;
  • advertising networks that deliver ads; and
  • law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.

Security Practices

Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used to protect information. No internet service, device, or transmission method is fully secure, so breach-proof security cannot be promised.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a user may ask to:

  • receive a copy of personal data held by the site;
  • correct inaccurate submitted information;
  • erase eligible personal data; or
  • opt out of certain processing.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as services or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when it is posted with an updated effective date. Effective August 1, 2026.
